MILAN, Italy – Napoli missed a chance to move provisionally level with second-placed Roma as it was held to 1-1 at Cagliari in Serie A on Saturday. Khalil Mack Jersey . Earlier, Udinese picked up a valuable 2-1 win at fellow struggler Livorno in the final round of Italian league fixtures before the winter break. Napoli was brimming with confidence after beating Inter Milan 4-2, but it was Cagliari which started the brighter and the Sardinian side took the lead in the ninth minute. Davide Astori dispossessed Italy defender Christian Maggio and cut back for the unmarked Nene to fire home. The Brazilian thought he scored moments earlier but he was booked for firing at goal after the referee stopped play. Gonzalo Higuain levelled 10 minutes later with a powerful penalty after Goran Pandev was fouled by Astori. Jose Maria Callejon had a spectacular volley ruled out in the 73rd after the assistant referee spotted that the ball took the slightest of touches off Pandev, who was in an offside position. Napoli remains third but could find itself 10 points behind leader Juventus if the two-time reigning champion beats Atalanta on Sunday. Roma plays Catania and would move five points ahead of Napoli with a win. AC Milan plays city rival Inter in a highly anticipated derby. In Livorno, Udinese coach Francesco Guidolin handed a surprise start to Nico Lopez, who claimed the opener in the 11th minute. The Uruguay Under-20 star won the ball off Emerson and raced into the left of the area before unleashing an angled drive into the far bottom corner. Luca Siligardi levelled for Livorno shortly after the half hour as he feinted past Maurizio Domizzi and drilled across into the bottom left corner. Thomas Heurtaux scored the winner in the 65th minute. Livorno goalkeeper Francesco Bardi did brilliantly to keep out Danilos volley from an Antonio Di Natale corner but Heurtaux rushed in to tap in the rebound. It was the defenders fourth goal of the season and makes him joint top goalscorer at the club with star striker Di Natale. Udinese also hit the woodwork in first-half stoppage time when Bardi fingertipped Allans deflected cross onto the crossbar. Livorno, which has lost five of its past six matches, remained a point off safety ahead of the rest of the weekend games. 17:10ET 21-12-13 Bo Jackson Jersey . "We cannot stay the same way the whole season long," said Reyes. "This is not acceptable. Something needs to change because were a better team than what were showing right now. Its a long season and we just need to continue to push." Its been a frustrating week for the ballclub. Marquel Lee Jersey . Geovany Soto had an RBI for the Cubs. Carlos Silva gave up one run on three hits over six innings to pick up the win. Josh Willingham drove in the lone run for the Nationals, who had just four hits.NYON, Switzerland – UEFA has barred Serbian title winner Red Star Belgrade from next seasons Champions League for not paying its debts. The 1991 European Cup winner was judged "in breach of a number of provisions of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play regulations," UEFA said in a statement. Clubs must show they have paid player salaries, transfer fees, and social taxes before being granted a license to enter UEFA competitions. UEFA said the judging panel of its club finance monitoring body was told in April "of the existence of overdue payables as a result of a complaint." Red Star has 10 days to file an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The club was due to enter the Champions League second qualifying round, and make its first appearance in Europes top competition for sseven years. Rodney Hudson Jersey. It would need to beat three opponents to reach the 32-team group stage. League runner-up Partizan, Red Stars city rival, stands to get the Champions League berth. Serbias football association also faces UEFA sanctions for granting Red Star its license. "An investigation against the Football Association of Serbia (FSS) might be opened within the coming days by the chief investigator for alleged breaches of the club licensing regulations," UEFA said. All clubs must prove their financial integrity to a national association before being formally approved to represent their country in the Champions League or Europa League. UEFAs licensing system pre-dates the FFP rules but has been given a higher profile as a weapon to curb clubs who overspend and avoid paying debts. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

Jamie Carragher says Rafa Benitez is the man to bring trophies back to Newcastle - if he can keep them up this season. Silvestre Varela Jersey . Benitez has 10 games to rescue the clubs Premier League status after agreeing to replace sacked head coach Steve McClaren in a revised role of manager. If he succeeds, the Spaniard will begin work on a three-year contract, while relegation will leave him the option of walking away. Supporters waiting for a first trophy since 1969 should not get too hung up on that release clause, according to Carragher, who won the Champions League under Benitez at Liverpool and believes Newcastle have finally found a worthy successor to Sir Bobby Robson. Five challenges for Rafa Five issues for Rafa Benitez to address at Newcastle I think for Newcastle, its a fantastic appointment to get a manager of that calibre, the Sky Sports expert said. I think over the last decade, youd have to go back to Bobby Robson [to find someone] who has won that many honours. These next 10 games - if he can get through those, then over the next three years he could be the man that stops that rot of trophies. Hes won so many trophies in his career. Sky Sports News HQs Keith Downie gets reaction from fans as Benitez takes over at Newcastle The fans shouldnt be concerned, not at all. For any Newcastle fan, forget the next three years, focus on the next 10 games. If youre a fan and Newcastle went down, you wouldnt want Rafa, youd want someone that has experience in that league and has success in that league. Rafa wont want to be there. Rafa Benitez and Jamie Carragher won the Champions League together at Liverpool in 2005 It works perfectly for both parties; if he keeps them up, itll be a great appointment over the next three or four years and hopefully he can get Newcastle back up the table  I think the next 10 games are all that matters for everyone involved.Benitez has a CV featuring some of Europes most well-known clubs, but has little experience of fighting a relegation battle. Benitez calls his players in on a day off to put them through training on his first day in the job I cant remember ever seeing Rafa at this end of the table, Carragher told Sky Sports News HQ. Thats why Im interested in seeing how he goes about it. Thats why Im interested in seeing how he manages, how he prepares his players.Motivation? Thats not Rafas biggest strength. He will look at how they suffer tactically. Rafa was probably the best I had with setting up a back four. Theres probably going to be a lot of repetition and he wont apologise for that. Those players will work hard - whoever theyre playing, it will be a difficult game for them. It wont be the open expansive style the fans want, for now he will be focusing on trying to make Newcastle difficult to beat. Also See: Newcastle appoint Benitez Rafa cancels players day off McClaren: I couldve saved Toon Five challenges facing Benitez Jose Fonte Jersey .Michael Briscoe is serving a life sentence for sexual assault, kidnapping and first-degree murder in the death of 13-year-old Nina Courtepatte in 2005. Raphael Guerreiro Jersey . The struggling New Orleans Pelicans were simply overmatched. Crawford hit seven 3s on his way to 24 points, and the Clippers beat the Pelicans 123-110 on Monday night. "We understand what we do well. If we all do what we do well, well make our team stronger," Crawford said.DENVER – Minnesota built up a big advantage at the free throw line throughout the game, and it was just enough to hold off Denvers furious rally. Kevin Love scored 33 points and tied a season high with 19 rebounds for his NBA-best 50th double-double this season, and the Timberwolves withstood Denvers 45-point fourth quarter to beat the skidding Nuggets 132-128 on Monday night for their third win in a row. Kevin Martin added 22 points for the Timberwolves, including four clutch free throws in the final 11.7 seconds. Martin made 16 of 17 foul shots, helping Minnesota rack up NBA season highs in attempts (64) and makes (52) from the line. Denver, meanwhile, went 16 of 25 (64 per cent). "Sixty-four free throws is a lot of free throws," Love said. "It was unbelievable. There were a lot of things that went on in that game that were just nuts, particularly the free throw situation and the 3-pointers at the end. K-Mart made some great plays, hit some big free throws, and that ultimately gave us separation." Love did his part as well, topping 30 points for the 11th time in his last 14 starts, including 11 of 13 from the free throw line to help Minnesota wrap up a 4-1 trip out west. "Thats major," Martin said of Minnesotas successful road swing. "Tonight was a must-win for us. You dont have too many must-wins in the beginning of March, but we understand where were at right now and guys had the mindset that we had to do anything we had to do to get the win." The Nuggets got a huge boost from the return of Ty Lawson, who scored a season-high 31 points with 11 assists in his first game since breaking a rib Feb. 8 at Detroit. But it wasnt enough to reverse their sagging fortunes. Denver lost its sixth straight and has dropped 11 of 12 overall. "You give a team 52 points at the free throw line and another 54 points in the paint, it is going to be tough to beat them," Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said. Trailing by 22 after a layup by Nikola Pekovic midway through the third quarter, the Nuggets responded with a 13-2 run that Randy Foye finished with a 3-pointer to pull to 85-74 with 4:10 remainning in the period. Eduardo Jersey. Minnesota, though, got its transition game going, getting successive breakaway baskets by Corey Brewer and a driving dunk from Dante Cunningham to take a 98-83 lead into the fourth. Just 3 minutes later, the Timberwolves were in front by 20 on a 20-foot jumper by Shabazz Muhammad. Denver made another push, pulling to 117-107 on Aaron Brooks 3-pointer with 3:25 left and then cutting it to 128-125 on Wilson Chandlers 3 with 12.6 seconds left. After Martin was fouled and made a pair of free throws, Evan Fournier hit another 3 with 7.2 seconds remaining to bring Denver to 130-128. Martin was fouled and again made both free throws, securing the win for the Timberwolves after Chandlers 3-point try in the final seconds hit the rim and bounced away – though Minnesota was outscored 45-34 in the final period. "They were making everything, banking stuff in," Brewer said. "But its all about getting the win. Nights like that, you have to hold on. "For us to go 4-1 on the road trip means a lot. Now we get to go home, four games at home, and we need all four games at home." The Timberwolves outscored the Nuggets 40-25 in the first quarter and led 66-49 at halftime. Chandler had a pair of baskets, cutting Minnesotas lead to 58-47, but the Timberwolves scored eight of 10 points in the last 2:18 of the second to rebuild their lead. "We gave up too many points in the first quarter," Lawson said. "When youre playing uphill like that, its tough to come back and actually get the win. We got it down to two, but they just hit their free throws at the end." NOTES: Timberwolves C Ronny Turiaf missed his fifth game because of a bone bruise on his right knee. … Minnesota improved to 27-14 when scoring more than 100 points. … Denver lost to Minnesota at the Pepsi Center for just the fourth time in 18 games since the start of the 2005-06 season. … Love has scored 30 or more points a team-record 21 times this season. … Minnesotas point total represented a season high. … Lawsons previous season high was 29 points against Oklahoma City on Nov. 18. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

PHOENIX - Looking back at the championships he won at Southern Cal and the Super Bowl title a season ago with Seattle, Pete Carroll can see exactly where the foundation for all that success was built. Aldrick Rosas Jersey . The 2000 football season was the only time since 1972 that Carroll did not work in coaching in some capacity, whether it was as a graduate assistant, position coach, co-ordinator or head coach. Hed just been fired by New England after going 8-8 in his third season there, placing Carroll into the fraternity of twice-fired NFL head coaches. Carroll had ideas for how he wanted to run a team, but never solidified the guiding principles. Getting fired might not have seemed necessary at the time, but proved vital in creating Carrolls future. Ill never know that and Im going to take it for the way it happened was necessary, Carroll said. The pain and the struggle and the hardship and then the challenges of bouncing back were all part of the rebirth of that — of the philosophy and a mentality. Fifteen years after being dismissed by Robert Kraft and New England, Carroll will face the Patriots as he tries to join another rare fraternity of coaches who have led teams to consecutive Super Bowl titles. That year out of football was the birth of Win Forever and all the other catch phrases that go along with being part of a Carroll-coached program. And much like last years Super Bowl in New York, where Carroll got his first NFL head coaching job with the Jets, this trip to the championship game brings another chapter of his career full circle. It gave me an opportunity to really collect my thoughts about moving forward and to get pointed in the direction that, really, we have maintained since, Carroll said. I had a tremendous opportunity to reflect on the time that I had had. What is most telling about Carrolls approach is that 15 years later its still relevant. Hes gone through multiple generations of athletes, embraced the eruption of social media and graduated from dealing with 18-year-old freshmen to 30-year-old professionals. Yet the philosophy remains successful. Theres a reason coaches from other sports — Steve Kerr, Lloyd McClendon, Terry Stotts, Erik Spoelstra — have made a point of visiting Seattle practice to get a sense of how Carroll works. I think because we made it work. We made it work because it was so true, really, to my heart. I could stand for it, up against whatever the challenges were, whatever the hurdles were, the issues were. It kept me together. It kept me on course, Carroll said. I found that we needed to be uncommonly consistent with what we believe in and prove the way we feel, the way we position things, would be one that we could make successful because it was so true it wasnt hard. While Carroll is set in his beliefs — and the results are hard to argue against — that should not be taken for inflexibility. Hes taken a give-and-take approach with the personalities he coaches, while they have bought in to what he preaches. Pete is always evolving, hes always adapting, Seattle wide receiver Doug Baldwin said. I think thats one of the things I love about Pete Carroll. He allows us, he allows the players to dictate what direction were going to go. He listens to the players and pays attention to us and ultimately he tries to fit our needs and wants and desires and that allows us to be comfortable coming to work and enjoying what we do. Hes always adapting and always changing. That ability to adapt was evident this season. Sitting at 6-4 after losing at Kansas City in Week 11, Carroll pulled together about a dozen of Seattles core players. He realized a connection was missing with this team and if anything was going to be salvaged from this season, it needed to be found right then. The results since: an eight-game winning streak and the chance for Seattle to become the first team in a decade to repeat as NFL champion. He allows his players to bump their heads and scrape their knees, and learn from their experiences on and off the field, Richard Sherman said. He gives us a chance. He trusts his players more than I think a lot of coaches do, and we appreciate him for that. Darian Thompson Jersey . Watch the game live on TSN and TSN GO at 9pm et/6pm pt. Serge Ibaka returned to the Thunder lineup from a calf injury that was supposed to sideline him for the remainder of the postseason and the results were sparkling. Brandon Marshall Jersey . PETERSBURG, Fla.CHICAGO – Even the Chicago White Sox relievers dont know who will get the ball in the ninth inning. Zach Putnam has had the last two chances, and made the most of them. Putnam earned his third save and second in two nights, striking out Jason Castro swinging to end the game with two on and give the White Sox a 4-3 victory over the Houston Astros on Saturday night. "Its interesting, and theres definitely an element of fun to it," Putnam said. "We dont know from game to game who is going to have that ninth if its a save opportunity." The White Sox have had no steady closer after Nate Jones and Matt Lindstrom were injured, and Ronald Belisario struggled in the role. They have been closing games by committee, and four relievers combined to throw three scoreless innings Saturday. White Sox manager Robin Ventura turned to Putnam to record the final out after Jake Petricka allowed a walk and infield hit in the ninth. "Unfortunately, I dont have a guy that youre just going to leave out there, saying thats your closer," Ventura said. "I like Puts swing-and-missability with some lefties, and thats the reason." Tyler Flowers had three hits and drove in the go-ahead run in the fifth for the White Sox, who have won two straight against the Astros to open the second half. George Springer hit his 20th home run, a solo shot, and Jose Altuve had a two-run double for the Astros. Flowers RBI double snapped a 3-all tie after Alejandro De Aza tripled. Flowers, who also drove in the go-ahead run with a double in the seventh of Fridays 3-2 victory, had his first three-hit game since April 24. "I dont know where he went over the break, but you can come back with renewed energy," Ventura said. "Catchings a tough thing to do. I think you dont find too many catchers that are going to hit all year long. Its a tough position, and people that do it are special. With him getting some rest, maybe it kind of gets him going in the right direction." Flowers is 6 for 9 in his last three games after going 10 for 112 in his previous 34. Geno Smith Jersey. "I dont know if Im quite locked in yet," Flowers said. "Its good to put some quality at-bats together." White Sox starter Hector Noesi (4-7) gave up three runs in six innings and has lowered his ERA from 11.74 to 5.21 since joining the rotation. "Im getting prepared for the second half to be tough," Noesi said. "So, Im more aggressive when I go to the mound." Dallas Keuchel (9-6) allowed four runs and 12 hits in five innings. He was 7-2 with a 3.13 ERA in his previous 10 road starts. "When you look at the amount of trouble he was in, to minimize it to four runs – and only three were earned – he did a nice job of battling," Astros manager Bo Porter said. The White Sox went ahead 1-0 in the second after three singles and an error. Conor Gillaspie extended the lead to 2-0 with an RBI single in the third. Flowers was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring in another run. Springers homer cut it to 3-1 in the fourth. He is one home run shy of tying Lance Berkmans club rookie home run record, set in 2000. Altuves double tied it at 3 in the fifth. The game featured three challenged calls and replay reviews totalling 5 minutes, 39 seconds. All were overturned. In the third, Gordon Beckham appeared to be hit by a pitch, loading the bases. The Astros challenged the call, and review confirmed Beckham was not hit. He returned to the plate and struck out. In the fourth, the White Soxs Alexei Ramirez was called out on a grounder to third, but replay confirmed he was safe at first. Later in the inning, Jose Abreu was called safe at second on a fielders choice. The Astros challenged the call, and Abreu was ruled out. NOTES: The White Sox optioned INF Carlos Sanchez to Triple-A Charlotte and will make a corresponding move on Sunday. .Abreu, who was leading the majors with 29 homers, is expected to play far more games than he did in Cuba, where he said teams play 96 games. He said he doesnt expect fatigue to be an issue. Ventura noted Abreu can sometimes DH to allow for rest. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ChinaCheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

(SportsNetwork. Olivier Giroud Jersey .com) - Tonight will go a long way in determining the two wild card spots in the Eastern Conference. The Columbus Blue Jackets welcome the Phoenix Coyotes to town while the Detroit Red Wings are in Buffalo to face the Sabres. Detroit and Columbus are currently four and three points ahead of the New Jersey Devils and Toronto Maple Leafs, respectively, in the Easts wild card race. The Maple Leafs are also in action tonight against the Lightning. Columbus is currently in postseason position as it holds the second of the Eastern Conferences two wild card spots with 87 points through 78 games. Columbus also is only two points behind Philadelphia for the third of the Metropolitan Divisions three automatic bids to the playoffs. The Flyers, who also have four games left, are visiting the Florida Panthers on Tuesday. The Blue Jackets picked up a valuable two points in their last trip to the ice, while Phoenix is currently mired in a costly four-game losing streak. Columbus, which is hosting its final game of the regular season tonight, used a potent power play on Sunday to bounce back from a deflating loss in its previous outing. The Blue Jackets converted on 3-of-6 opportunities with the man advantage in a 4-0 home win over the New York Islanders, two days after losing Fridays 4-3 regulation decision against visiting Chicago. Columbus failed to gain a point on Friday after the Blackhawks scored the winning goal in the waning seconds of regulation. Boone Jenner, Jack Johnson and Ryan Murray each record power-play goals on Sunday, while Mark Letestu added an even strength tally. Sergei Bobrovsky made 31 saves in his career-high 29th win of the season. "This is a huge win," Columbus forward Matt Calvert said. "We needed these two points badly. Our power play came up big and (Bobrovsky) was great." The Blue Jackets are 21-15-4 as the home team this season and had lost three straight (0-2-1) at Nationwide Arena before Sundays victory. Columbus will visit Dallas, Tampa Bay and Florida to complete its regular-season slate. Columbus notched a 2-0 win at Phoenix on Jan. 2, giving the Blue Jackets two straight wins in this series following a three-game slide versus the Coyotes. Phoenix has lost four in a row in Columbus, where it hasnt won since a 4-3 regulation victory on Jan. 11, 2011. The Red Wings hope to return to the win column on Tuesday when the playoff-hopeful club visits the Buffalo Sabres for a clash at First Niagara Center. Detroit is in position to secure its 23rd straight playoff berth, as it currently sits in the first of two wild card spots in the Eastern Conference. The Red Wings, who last missed the postseason in 1990, are one point ahead of Columbus and four in front of New Jersey and Toronto. The Red Wings had won four straight before losing Saturdays 5-3 decision in Montreal. Detroit rallied from a 3-0 deficit to even the score in the third period, but the Canadiens recovered to win it in regulation. Detroit used third-period goals from Pavel Datsyuk, Justin Abdelkader and Niklas Kronwall to tie the contest, but Brian Gionta restored Montreals lead with 6:47 left and Alex Galchenyuk added an insurance tally a little over two minutes later. Kronwall also added an assist in the loss, while Johan Franzen notched a pair of helpers. Meanwhile, Jonas Gustavsson only stopped 21 of the 26 shots he faced. "The puck went in our net way too often. Obviously, you cant give up five on the road and expect to win," said Detroit head coach Mike Babcock. Detroit fell to 19-15-4 as the guest and is playing the middle portion of a three-game road trip tonight. The Red Wings will complete the swing Wednesday night at Pittsburgh. Tuesdays game marks an excellent chance for Detroit to get back on track, as the Red Wings have won seven straight and 10 of their last 11 games against Buffalo. The Sabres also have lost three in a row and six of their past seven home tests against Detroit. Alex Iwobi Jersey . His right arm rested in a sling and was encased in a cast from above the elbow to his hand. "Im excited," Fernandez said with a grin. Joel Campbell Jersey . The Bruins forward has been fined $5,000 by the National Hockey League for spearing Red Wings defenceman Danny DeKeyser in the groin.SAINT JOHN, N.B. - The Swiss were as surprised as anyone else by their gold-medal victory at the 2014 Ford Womens World Curling Championship. Binia Feltschers inexperienced Flims Curling Club foursome upset Canadas Rachel Homan 9-5 in Sundays final at Harbour Station. "Im speechless. Its like dream. Its awesome," Swiss third Irene Schori said. "We were very relaxed. We had nothing to lose and they were under pressure. "We are surprised. We did a great job the whole season, but we never thought we could win a medal at the world championship." Its Switzerlands second womens world title in three years after Mirjam Ott won it in Lethbridge, Alta., in 2012. Feltscher won an Olympic silver medal in 2006 playing third for Ott, but Schori, second Franziska Kaufmann and lead Christine Urech made their world championship debuts in Saint John. It was a deflating end for Canadas Homan, third Emma Miskew, second Alison Kreviazuk and lead Lisa Weagle out of the Ottawa Curling Club. The host country boasted an 11-1 tournament record going into Sundays final, but a devastating eighth end cost Canada. Leading 5-3 after seven, the Swiss scored three points on Canadian mistakes and Homan couldnt recover. More errors in the ninth forced Homan into a low percentage angle raise double takeout with her final throw. The Canadian skip missed and gave up a steal of three for the first time in the tournament. Down four points coming home, even a team as potent with the hammer as Homans had been couldnt generate four points. "Im disappointed we didnt finish off that last game," a stoic Homan said. "We had a really good week. "The whole game we just werent quite making the shots we needed to make." Homan went undefeated to win a second Canadian championship and earn a return trip to the world championship. The skip missed her last shot of the semifinal in Riga, Latvia, last year to give up the steal of a point and the win to eventual champion Eve Muirhead of Scotland. The Canadians settled for bronze in Riga and came to Saint John bent on moving two steps up the podium, not one. Muirhead opted to focus on the Winter Olympics in Sochi instead of participating in playdowns for this world championship. Canadas lone loss of the preliminary round was to Switzerland on Day 2. With runbacks and raises, Homan drained the Swiss of their offence in Fridays playoff game between the tournaments top two seeds. The Swiss felt no weight of expectations and Canada did. "A silver medal is still an improvement from the bronze last year," Kreviazuk said. "We worked so hard this year. It feels good to come out of this with at least a medal. "Tomorrow were going to look at the silver and be a lot happier. Right now, its a little tough to swallow. Im still proud and happy. I know I will be tomorrow." Winnipegs Jennifer Jones went undefeated in Sochi to claim Olympic womens curling gold last month, but Canada hasnt won a world womens title since Jones in 2008 in Vernon, B.C. Homan and Miskew led in shooting percentages at their position prior to the final, but shot 61 and 63 per cent, respectively Sunday. "They just made more mistakes than they usually make," Feltscher said through an interpreter. In the eighth end, Kreviazuk needed to put her draw on the top of the four-foot rings, but her stone stayed top 12. Miskews draw was heeavy and Homan missed a freeze with her first shot of the end. Emiliano Martinez Jersey. She threw big weight to chip off one of her own stones to the button and missed, leaving Feltscher with a draw for three. "I thought I stuck it for shot and it just kept spinning," Homan said. The future of Homans team in Canadian curling remains bright if they continue on together as a team. Weagle, who turns 29 on Monday, is getting married in July. Her teammates are all 25 or under and in the early stages of their careers after earning their university degrees. The South Koreans, Chinese and Russians are full-time, paid athletes. The federations focus on a chosen few because those countries dont have Canadas depth. Canada determines its international representatives via the natural selection of regional, provincial and national playdowns. Qualifying for Canadas 2017 trials requires travelling to World Curling Tour events across Canada throughout the winter to earn ranking points. Thats a difficult commitment when juggling careers and families. "Its not a discussion weve had, but I cant see the girls backing down anytime soon," Kreviazuk said. "Youll probably see a lot of us." Kelly Scott, winner of the womens world title in 2007, recently announced her team is disbanding. "At this point, all the ladies are assessing where curling fits into their busy lives; complete with careers and young families," Scott said in a statement. Jones, 39, has a young daughter. It is unclear at this point if she wants to commit to another Olympic quadrennial. Earle Morris, who had a cult following at Harbour Station, has coached Homan for the better part of the last decade. He wasnt certain he would be coaching them next season because he too may take a break. "I think they will have a great future," Morris said. "The problem with curling and stereotypically with women is life gets in the way. We just have to hope thats not going to happen with this team. It would be hard to replace anybody on this team in their position. "Your motivation, suddenly its not the most important thing in the world when you have a little baby to worry about or a family to raise or work commitments. It is a challenge for women more so than men in that regard." Anna Sidorova claimed the first womens world curling championship medal for Russia by scoring two in the 10th and stealing one in an extra end in a 7-6 win over South Koreas Ji-sun Kim. "I just dont have enough words to describe my feelings," said Sidorova, who went 3-6 in Sochi. "Now Im pretty sure we are able to play at a really high level and were able to beat everybody. We just need to execute well and believe in ourselves sometimes." Albertas Kevin Koe won the Tim Hortons Brier and will represent Canada at the mens world championship Saturday to April 6 in Beijing. The 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts will be held in Moose Jaw, Sask., and Sapporo, Japan will be the host of next years womens world championship. Saint John drew approximately 44,000 people to Harbour Station for the nine-day event. The last world curling championship at Harbour Station in 1999 drew 96,000 when it combined both mens and womens events. Since they were split into two separate events in 2005, Grande Prairie, Alta., holds the attendance record for the womens event at 60,000 the following year. Cheap NFL JerseysCheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

wasted little time Friday night in entering the Alouette record

Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork. Jim Palmer Jersey .com) - Make it a dozen touchdown passes in two games for Ben Roethlisberger. Its been a resurgence for his Pittsburgh Steelers offense since their lackluster Week 2 showing in Baltimore, when they didnt tally any. Roethlisberger tossed six touchdowns and the Steelers routed the Ravens 43-23 on Sunday night. Roethlisbergers 12 touchdown passes in consecutive weeks is the most in NFL history. Big Ben went 40-of-49 for 522 yards – the third most in a regulation game in NFL history – and six touchdowns last Sunday, making him the first ever quarterback with two 500-plus yard games. He followed that performance up by going 25-of-37 for 340 yards. Joey Rickard Jersey. In mens doubles, Vancouvers Vasek Pospisil and American Jack Sock reached the quarter-finals with a 7-6 (3), 7-6 (3), 6-4 win over Croatian Mate Pavic and Andre Sa of Brazil. Jeremy Hellickson Jersey . Trailing 2-1 from the first leg, Fiorentina levelled on aggregate in the 14th minute when Joaquin Sanchez Rodriguez headed back a long ball from David Pizarro and Pasqual smashed home an angled volley. TORONTO – Montreal linebacker Chip Cox wasted little time Friday night in entering the Alouette record book. Cox sacked Toronto quarterback Zach Collaros for a seven-yard loss on the Argos second offensive play to record his 111th tackle of the season. The previous club record of 110 was set in 1996 by Tracy Gravely. It was also Coxs 11th sack of the season, tying him with teammate John Bowman. Cox finished with five tackles on the night, upping his season total to 115. He also notched another sacck to make it an even dozen. Frank Robinson Jersey. The CFL record for tackles is 130 in 2012 by Edmontons J.C. Sherritt, who was named the CFLs top defensive player that year. The 30-year-old Cox came into the Toronto game leading the league in tackles this season. Cox, an undersized linebacker at five foot nine and 185 pounds, is an eight-year veteran from Columbus. Ohio. In 2012, he led the team with four interceptions and a career-high 82 tackles. He started his career as a defensive back. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ChinaCheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

MONTREAL – Montreals baseball fans will get a chance to applaud the 1994 Expos for their memorable, strike-shortened season. Keith Smith Jersey . Former manager Felipe Alou has confirmed to The Canadian Press that he and other members of that dominant squad will be at an exhibition game next March at Olympic Stadium. Alou says he doesnt know exactly whats planned but hell be sure to make it up from the spring training camp of the San Francisco Giants, for whom hes a scout. He said the details still need to be ironed out with former Expos star Warren Cromartie, who is spearheading the event. "I know hes trying to reach other players from that team, but I dont know who he got. He told me hed be in touch after the season," Alou said in a phone interview. A news conference is scheduled for Tuesday when Cromarties Montreal Baseball Project will also introduce some results of a feasibility study on baseball in Montreal, commissioned by the local board of trade. The Expos were enjoying the best season in their history in 1994 – with an outfield of Larry Walker, Moises Alou and Marquis Grissom, and a burgeoning Pedro Martinez who entered the season as the teams No. 4 starter. They had the best record in the major leagues, at 34 games over .500, when the season ended prematurely in mid-August. And for a number of key regulars, that was it. The Expos were dismantled before the next years Opening Day, in one of the periodic fire sales that crushed the spirits of the local fan base. The Expos played in a mostly empty stadium before moving to Washington a decade later. Major League Baseball will make a brief return next March, as Olympic Stadium hosts two exhibition games between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets. The tickets have only been on sale for a few days but more than 40,000 total have already been sold for the games. That ensures a far better draw for the exhibition matches than what the Expos generally got for regular-season games in their final years. Alou, a former National League manager of the year and a three-time all star during his playing days, maintains the city should have a big-league franchise. "I always said Montreal would be a good city for Major League Baseball," Alou said. He added that there were whispers about minor-league baseball coming to Montreal, but he didnt buy it. "Montreal is a big-league city," Alou said. "Its a big-league city for hockey and I think it can be a big-league city for baseball." Theres one glaring prerequisite, though, for making baseball work there, Alou said: a downtown ballpark. The Olympic Stadium is located in the citys east end, away from central transport hubs. Its location required a lengthy night-time commute for fans who lived on the other side of the city core, or off the island. "I dont believe that any city that had Major League Baseball for 34 years went on without building a downtown major-league stadium," Alou said. Location wasnt the only problem, he said. He also suggested the cavernous concrete creation from the 1976 Olympics wasnt exactly propitious for baseball. "We never had a stadium in Montreal," Alou said. "Fans were fantastic to show up at Jarry Park and Olympic Stadium, but they never had the feeling to witness Major League Baseball in a Major League Baseball stadium." Alou remained popular with local fans throughout his time as Expos manager, as he compiled a record of 691 wins and 717 losses through various fire sales from 1992 to 2001. He later managed the Giants from 2003 to 2006, with a record of 342 wins to 304 losses. Baseball has crept into this falls municipal election campaign, with both main mayoral candidates speaking vaguely about the possibility of courting a new team. Alou said it wont work without a new ballpark. "If they get a team with no stadium, its going to fail," Alou said. "We cant go back and do the same mistakes." La el Collins Jersey . This week, topics cover the Blue Jays rotation, the futures John Gibbons and Alex Anthopoulos, protecting pitchers and a bonus question on his predictions for the MLB playoffs. DeMarcus Ware Jersey . The 24-year-old Raley was 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA for Chicago in his first two career starts after being called up from Iowa on Aug. 7. He was optioned to Iowa on Monday after losing 3-0 to Cincinnati in Chicago on Sunday.KAMLOOPS, B.C. – Kamloops, B.C., will host the 2016 IIHF womens world hockey championship, bringing the tournament to British Columbia for the first time in its 26-year history. The 22 games will be split between the Interior Savings Centre and McArthur Island Sports and Event Centre in April of 2016. Kamloops had bid to host the 2013 event, which was awarded to Ottawa. "I have had the honour of coaching in Kamloops, I know the passion the city has for hockey, and I am sure it will be a first-class event on and off the ice that will grow the sport and provide young aspiring female hockey players with a chance to watch the best in the world," Toom Renney, the president and CEO of Hockey Canada, said in a release. Jonathan Cooper Jersey. . The world championship will be the second major international womens hockey event in Kamloops in a span of 18 months. Canada, Finland, Sweden and the U.S. will play in the Four Nations Cup there this November. The 2016 tournament will mark the seventh time Canada has hosted the world championship – the previous tournaments were 1990 and 2013 in Ottawa, Ont., 1997 in Kitchener, Ont., 2000 in Mississauga, Ont., 2004 in Halifax, and 2007 in Winnipeg. Canada has played in every gold-medal game in the tournaments history, winning 10 gold medals and five silver. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

BALTIMORE – Playing on the road against a team they have struggled against all year, the last-place Tampa Bay Rays begrudgingly accepted a doubleheader split. Bronson Kaufusi Jersey . After rookie right-hander Alex Colome excelled in a 5-2 victory in the opener, the Rays fell to Chris Tillman and the Orioles 4-1 on Friday night. "They outpitched us in the second game, but we actually pitched well tonight," Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said. "Nevertheless, you will always take a split in a day-night doubleheader, but after you win the first one you get a little greedy." Tampa Bay is 2-8 against the Orioles this season, 1-3 in Baltimore. In the first game, the Orioles mustered only three hits – one after the second inning. Added to the roster for the doubleheader as the 26th man, Colome (1-0) gave up one run, two hits and four walks in 5 2-3 innings to earn his second big league victory. The first came against Miami in his debut on May 30, 2013. Its been a strange year for Colome, who served a 50-game suspension until May 25 for violating the leagues drug policy. He was activated by the Rays and pitched four innings of relief against Toronto on May 26 before being optioned to the minors after the game. In his last start for Triple-A Durham, Colome gave up nine runs in 1 1-3 innings against Syracuse on June 21. He had far more success against the Orioles, holding them to one hit after Nick Markakis opened with a single. Jake McGee worked the ninth for his second save Orioles starter Kevin Gausman (3-2) yielded five runs, seven hits and a career-high four walks in five-plus innings. Baltimore got a first-inning run when Nick Markakis singled and scored on a groundout by Chris Davis. In the second, Brandon Guyer hit the first of his three doubles to knock in a run, and Matt Joyce followed with an RBI single. A two-out RBI single by Jose Molina made it 3-1 in the fourth. Doubles by Guyer and Joyce, along with a single by Sean Rodriguez, added two runs in the sixth. In the nightcap, the Orioles were again struggling to score before Nick Hundley homered to put Baltimore ahead in the sixth and Nelson Cruz added a two-run shot in the seventh. Hundley connected off Juan Carlos Oviedo (3-3) for a 2-1 lead, and Cruz hit his 25th home run – tied for the major league lead – off Joel Peralta after Adam Jones led off with his fourth hit of the game. That gave Baltimore 38 homers in June, most in the majors. "We have a lot of power on this team, a lot of guys who can hit it out anywhere on the field. Thats why this lineup is so dangerous," Hundley said. "When you have a team, a lineup, with this much depth and this much power to all fields, it makes it tough to pitch to." Tillman (7-4) gave up one run and four hits over eight innings to earn his first win in seven home starts this season. He was 0-4 with a 2.78 ERA. Zach Britton got three outs for his 10th save. Rays starter Jake Odorizzi allowed one run and six hits in five innings, striking out six. "I had no pitches tonight. I had no fastball command, no off-speed pitches, slider was terrible, changeup was equally as bad," the rookie said. "My curveball, I think I threw it twice. It was just an all-around bad, bad experience out there." But Tampa Bay pitchers got nine strikeouts in the nightcap, giving them a major league record 261 in June. Cleveland had 253 in June 1964. James Loneys fourth homer gave the last-place Rays a 1-0 lead in the second inning, but Baltimore matched that in the bottom half with an RBI single by Hundley. Odorizzi threw 31 pitches in the inning, the last a third strike to Manny Machado with the bases loaded. Baltimore loaded the bases again in the fifth before J.J. Hardy fouled out and David Lough struck out. The Orioles stranded nine through five innings and were 1 for 9 with runners in scoring position. NOTES: The first game was the makeup for an April 15 rainout. It drew a season-low crowd of 15,614. … TB SS Yunel Escobar tested his sore right shoulder by playing catch but was not yet ready to return. He last played Tuesday. … Evan Longoria had three hits in the nightcap, two off Tillman, and is 13 for 30 (.433) lifetime against the right-hander. … Jones four hits tied a career high. Nick Boyle Jersey .com) - Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was named the National League Player of the Month for April. Jeremy Maclin Jersey . General manager David Poile called signing Ribeiro a great opportunity to add a talented, experienced and creative centre Tuesday when he introduced the veteran at a news conference. Ribeiros contract is worth $1.05 million after being bought out of the final three years of a $22 million contract by the Coyotes recently.(SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Penguins will aim to eliminate the upstart Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday, as the clubs battle in Mondays Game 6 at Nationwide Arena. The Penguins, who are seeded second in the East, were tied at 2-2 with Columbus before gaining an edge in the best-of-seven series with Saturdays 3-1 victory in Pittsburgh. If Pittsburgh fails to wrap up the series tonight in Columbus, the clubs will play a decisive Game 7 in the Steel City on Wednesday. Columbus, which had never won a playoff contest before this series, has little margin for error in Game 6. Blue Jackets center Mark Letestu hopes facing elimination can bring the best out of his club. "I mean, if theyre going to push, what are we going to do?," Letestu said. "Its back in our building and our backs are against the wall. When there is adversity, this is the best that this team has played all year. I expect this first elimination game for everybody to play with their hair on fire." Columbus is 1-1 on home ice in this series, losing Game 3 to the Pens before rebounding with an overtime victory in the next encounter. The Blue Jackets are 1-3 all-time at Nationwide Arena in the postseason. The Blue Jackets had lost six straight home games against the Penguins before notching a victory in Game 4. Columbus and Pittsburgh were tied at 1-1 after 40 minutes on Saturday, but Jussi Jokinen scored the eventual game-winner at 6:16 of the third period. Kris Letang added an empty-netter with 1:01 left in regulation to seal the win for the Penguins and put them one victory away from advancing to the second round. Brandon Williams Jersey. After a rough outing in Game 4, Pens goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury bounced back by making 23 saves for the win. Chris Kunitz had a goal and an assist in the victory. Sidney Crosby added an assist to give him five helpers in the series, but he has yet to score a goal. After his club grabbed a 3-2 lead on Saturday, the Pens captain talked about the difficulty of closing out a series. "We have to realize theyre going to be as desperate as theyve been," Crosby said of tonights Game 6 battle. "It doesnt get any easier. We know the fourth one is the toughest." Crosbys teammate Evgeni Malkin also has yet to score over the first five games, but he has four assists. Boone Jenner scored the one goal for Columbus on Saturday, while Sergei Bobrovsky single-handedly kept his team in the game with a 48-save loss. "It was one of those performances where you come into an opposing rink, thats a game that your goaltender can steal for you," Columbus head coach Todd Richards said. "We just werent able to do enough in the offensive zone." Columbus defensemen Fedor Tyutin and Ryan Murray each returned to the lineup after missing time with lower-body injuries. Tyutin missed the previous two games, while Murray was held out of Game 4. Penguins defenseman Robert Bortuzzo made his NHL playoff debut in Game 5, replacing injured blueliner Brooks Orpik. Pittsburgh hasnt disclosed the specifics of Orpiks injury and he is questionable for tonight. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

100 mph on the radar gun and allowed only two earned runs in

LONDON – Arsenal remains on course for another season in the Champions League after beating Newcastle 3-0 at home on Monday. Gregor Blanco Jersey . The win puts Arsenal four points clear of Everton in fourth place with two games to play in the Premier League, a position which would qualify the club for Europes top competition for the 17th straight year. Having been contained for the first quarter of the match, the hosts found their rhythm after defender Laurent Koscielny gave the Gunners the lead in the 26th minute when he poked in from close range a well-placed free kick from Santi Cazorla. Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski went close to doubling the lead, notably when his powerful header from six-yards out was parried away by Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul. Arsenal went two up in the 42nd minute when midfielder Mesut Ozil tapped in from close range after Krul saved two efforts from Olivier Giroud, the second of which fell comfortably into the path of the Germany international. Ozil then became the provider in the 66th minute when his whipped cross was powerfully headed into the net by Giroud. The win means that one more victory in the final two games will be enough to confirm a Champions League spot for Arsenal next season. Everton takes on Manchester City at home on Saturday in a game that also has huge implications for the title race between City, Liverpool and Chelsea. Arsenal then plays West Bromwich Albion at home on Sunday. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is taking nothing for granted, though. "To get over the line is always difficult," he said. As well as qualifying for the lucrative Champions League, Arsenal is hoping to lift its first trophy in nine years when it takes on Hull in the FA Cup Final on May 17 at Wembley Stadium. Newcastle chances were few and far though winger Yoan Gouffran had a good chance to halve the deficit early on in the second half but he shot straight at Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny when through on goal. The defeat was Newcastles sixth straight loss and ratcheted up the pressure on manager Alan Pardew. Despite that ignominious run, the club remains in ninth place following a strong first half to the season. The match was also Pardews first on the touchline since a seven-game suspension for head-butting Hulls David Meyler – the longest suspension ever handed down to a Premier League manager. A section of the 2,000 or so Newcastle fans who made the trip down from the northeast of England turned against Pardew in the second half. "We want Pardew out" and "Six in a row" boomed down from the away section as they grew increasingly restless. Pardew conceded the second half of the season has not been good enough and said the fans had the right to vent their frustrations. "Theyve seen us lose again and theyre not happy and I have to respect that," he said. "Weve been top 10 all year, this recent run is not something Im hiding from, we should have performed better in this run and weve got to finish in the top 10." Jorge De La Rosa Jersey . Dallas also Monday recalled defenceman Aaron Rome from his conditioning assignment with the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League and assigned goaltender Jack Campbell to the AHL squad. Shelby Miller Jersey . So he and his Toronto FC teammates say they will have no problem getting up for their Amway Canadian Championship final against rival Montreal Impact, even if the result doesnt count toward Major League Soccer standings.MIAMI – Zack Greinke said he was merely trying to beat the Miami Marlins and not competing with teammate Clayton Kershaw. Greinke allowed one run in eight innings and won his fourth start in a row Wednesday by pitching the Los Angeles Dodgers past Miami 4-1. The right-hander improved to 12-3 and tied major-league ERA leader Kershaw and Hyun-Jin Ryu for the team lead in victories. Greinke said theres no rivalry among the Dodgers pitchers, not even a friendly one. "Kersh is on such another level that if you try to do better than him, youre going to get your feelings hurt," Greinke said. Actually, Greinke has been tough to top lately, with an ERA of 0.41 over his past three starts. With LeBron James watching from behind home plate, Greinke allowed Miami six hits, walked none and lowered his ERA to 2.91. The Marlins lone run came on a first-inning homer by Giancarlo Stanton. They had only one base runner against Greinke over his final 4 1-3 innings. "They actually hit him a little bit early, and you saw him make a quick adjustment and start using a lot more curveballs," manager Don Mattingly said. "It was kind of cool to watch him turn the page and throw more breaking balls and change speeds a lot more. All of a sudden he was getting quick innings." Kershaw is scheduled to pitch the final game of the series Thursday. Dodgers pitching coach Rick Honeycutt said he believes the teams starters do compete with each other, which makes them all better. "They wouldnt be where theyre at without a competitive nature," Honeycutt said. "Theres a sense of pride. When Kersh goes out and sets the tone, Zack wants to go deeper in games." While Greinke gave the Marlins fits, sloppy defence doomed them for the second night in a row. They committed a season-high three errors, including two in the Dodgers three-run fourth inning. Two Marlins errors led to two unearned runs in their 6-4 loss Tuesday. "Weve got to pick it up defensively. Were making way too many mistakes," manager Mike Redmond said. "We cant make a lot of mistakes, especially against such a good team." Yasiel Puig was back in the Dodgers starting lineup. He appeared to tweak his lower left leg in the early going and limped slightly at times but stayed in the game. Puig went 0 for 5 and is batting .167 (7 for 42) over his past 11 gamess. J. D. Martinez Jersey. The rookie sensation was back in right field after being held out of the starting lineup for one game because of his slump. "He has some good swings, I thought," Mattingly said. The announced crowd of 24,996 included Puigs friend, James, making his first visit to Marlins Park. James sat next to one of the aquariums along the backstop and drew the nights biggest cheer when he was shown on the video scoreboard as Puig stepped to the plate. "I think Puig thought it was for him," Redmond said. "That was kind of funny." The Dodgers improved to 27-5 since the All-Star break, and theyve won 21 of their past 24 road games. Theyre unbeaten in their past 18 series since mid-June. Los Angeles had only seven hits and went 2 for 13 with runners in scoring position. Much of the Dodgers offence came from Hanley Ramirez, who had two hits, scored twice and drove in a run against his former team. Aside from Stantons homer, only two Marlins reached second base against Greinke, and one was picked off. Kenley Jansen completed the six-hitter by pitching the ninth for his 21st save in 24 chances. He gave up a walk before centre fielder Andre Ethier made a long run and caught Adeiny Hechavarrias drive at the base of the wall to end the game. That left the Marlins (48-77) back on pace to lose 100 games. Ex-Dodger Nathan Eovaldi (2-4) hit 100 mph on the radar gun and allowed only two earned runs in seven innings. But he was again hurt by the poor run support that has plagued him this season, and fell to 0-4 in his past seven starts. "I felt good," Eovaldi said. "Fastball command was there, off-speed stuff was there. I just had that bump in the road in the fourth inning." Puig reached on a wild throw by third baseman Ed Lucas to start the fourth, and Los Angeles took advantage of the mistake. Ramirez doubled home a run, Ethier put the Dodgers ahead with an RBI single, and Ramirez came home on a wild pickoff throw to first by Eovaldi to make the score 3-1. Stantons 16th homer in the first put the Marlins ahead 1-0. Their first two batters singled in the second, but Greinke pitched out of the jam. Notes: Ethier had two hits to improve his career average against Miami to .395. … Stanton had two hits and is 7 for 13 in the series. … Greinke improved to 3-0 in five starts against the Marlins. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys AuthenticWholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

ST. Carson Palmer Jersey . PETERSBURG, Fla. – Chris Archer didnt need much run support for the struggling Tampa Bay hitters. Archer allowed three hits in 6 2/3 innings, Kevin Kiermaier and Evan Longoria homered on consecutive pitches, and the Rays beat the Houston Astros 5-0 on Thursday night. "Tonight he was dominant," Tampa Bay catcher Ryan Hanigan said of Archer. Archer (4-4) struck out eight and walked two to help the Rays win for the sixth time in the last 23 games. "It makes a huge difference when youre pitching ahead," Archer said. "Just getting strike one is key and thats what tonight was proof of." Three Tampa Bay relievers completed a three-hitter, sending Houston to its fourth straight loss. Kiermaier hit a two-run homer before Longoria had a solo drive off Paul Clemens in the seventh. Collin McHugh (4-5) gave up two unearned runs and four hits over six innings on his 27th birthday. "Hes got weapons," Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said. "Hes got know-how too." The Rays took a 2-0 lead in the fourth on Yunel Escobars run-scoring single and a bunt by Hanigan. Tampa Bay got a break when shortstop Jonathan Villar dropped a throw on Brandon Guyers potential double-play grounder after a leadoff single by James Loney. "You look at the quality of pitches he was throwing at that point, he pretty much was in control of the game," Astros manager Bo Porter said. "It was a groundball, double-play ball that we end up not recording a single out. Now it turns it into a pretty stressful inning." Jose Altuve opened the Houston fourth with an infield single and swiped second, but was left stranded. The Astros also failed to score during the sixth when Altuve singled and stole his AL-high 26th base. One day after loading the bases with no outs in the first inning and not scoring in a 2-0 loss to Baltimore, the Rays failed to capitalize during the opening frame Thursday despite having runners on first and third and no outs. McHugh struck out Kiermaier and Longoria before getting a comebacker from Loney. Ben Zobrist, 1 for his last 37 with runners in scoring position, popped out, Kiermaier struck out and Longoria hit a liner to third after the first two Rays drew walks in the third. "We had plenty of opportunities early," Maddon said. "It finally kicked in late." NOTES: The Rays placed OF David DeJesus on the 15-day DL with a broken left hand. DeJesus expects his hand will be in a splint for three weeks. … Guyer (broken left thumb) was activated from the 15-day DL. … Tampa Bay RHP Jeremy Hellickson (elbow) will need at least one more minor league start. Hellickson has made three rehab starts, including the last two at Triple-A where he has allowed 11 runs and 18 hits over a combined five innings. … Houston RHP Brad Peacock, (food poisoning), Saturdays scheduled starter, rejoined the team. … Rays LHP David Price (5-6) and Astros RHP Jarred Cosart (6-5) are Friday nights starters. Cosart beat Price, the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner, in his big league debut last July 12. Robert Nkemdiche Jersey .Y. - Urijah Faber walked out on a Madison Square Garden stage in a Wes Welker jersey, the UFCs fun nod to that other "super" show this weekend. D.J. Humphries Jersey . Howard had 17 points and a career-high-tying 26 rebounds in his Houston debut, James Harden added 21 points and the Rockets cruised to a 96-83 win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night.Timing-wise, it just felt right, says Steve Davis, as he reflects on his decision to end a 38-year career in professional snooker with a public farewell at the Crucible Theatre a fortnight ago. Audiences at Sheffields snooker mecca saw Davis win six world titles during an era of dominance that coincided with the sports boom under Barry Hearns guidance in the 1980s. As he held the trophy aloft ceremonially - and a little sheepishly - for a final time, there was a feeling of relief that the circle was closed. It just slowly got harder to compete at the top level. Its not that I didnt love the game, its just that Ive been playing competitively for so long that when you practise, you practise with a view to playing in a tournament, Davis says. And if youre losing every match then it perhaps isnt worth practising.Six years after he last qualified for the World Championship, the game was up.Just Jimmy White remains active of the 80s giants who laid bare on the baize a range of contradictory personalities that helped propel a pub game out of the Pot Black era and into the big-time.A BBC film called The Rack Pack chronicling a fictionalised version of Davis rivalry with Alex Higgins was released in January, and the nostalgia - the sense he was part of the past rather than the present - played its role in the 58-year-olds retirement. Davis rivalry with Alex Higgins was a cornerstone of snookers success in the early 1980s More influential, though, was the death earlier this year of his father Bill, whose unswerving practical, technical and paternal support took his son from the south London clubs to the amateur circuit and, in just a few years, to the top of the world.Things coincided with my father passing away, Davis says. I didnt really feel the desire to play on longer with him not around, and by complete coincidence The Rack Pack came out. That just brought home that first wave of enthusiasm for snooker to hit the UK - everything seemed to be leading towards the conclusion that it was the end of an era. What an era, though. Davis emerged in the late 70s as a kind of other-worldly automaton pitted against the all-too-human Higgins and the unaffected Whites outrageous talent, and he had ringmaster Hearn in his corner.Given the way Essexs great sporting impresario has subsequently exploited the pantomime potential of boxing and darts - for the benefit of player and promoter alike - it is tempting to wonder whether the man vs machine narrative of the time was at all scripted. Not so, says Davis. Barry Hearn (right) backed Davis rise to the top of snooker and helped commercialise the sport It was just the way it was. We were all pushing boundaries in our own way, and you just did what you did the way you could do it. Part of your personality comes out on the table - you cant really do very much about that. The robotic, emotionless person I was on the table was how I dealt with the problem at hand. It wasnt so much Barry Hearns influence as [a reflection of] the way each one of us lived our life at the time. I was pretty regimented, probably the hardest practiser. That treadmill of practice-competition-practice took him to 28 ranking titles, and a genuine passion for a hobby-turned-profession helped maintain his meticulous approach even during the harrowing time when Stephen Hendry was wresting control of the sport. The Scot bolted a total lack of fear onto Davis merciless professionalism and toppled snookers king, surpassing his record of six Crucible wins. Somewhere along the line, though, that new vulnerability - first glimpsed in the famous final-black world final defeat to Dennis Taylor in 1985 - meant the snooker-watching public came to love Davis where once hed been merely admired. Daviis roll of honour Six World Championship titles 28 ranking titles 53 non-ranking titles 355 century breaks A genial willingness to embrace Spitting Images Interesting Steve Davis caricature did no harm, and he remains the only snooker player to win the BBCs Sports Personality of the Year award, but Davis wonders now whether he or any of the circuits fabled 80s characters would leave a mark in todays post-internet, multi-channel world. Chandler Jones Jersey. .I think the trouble is that the worlds become quite immune to characters. The analogy of Big Brother would spring to mind. The first winner of Big Brother [Liverpudlian everyman-type Craig Phillips in 2000] was just a normal bloke called Craig. Nowadays, it seems youve got to be some sort of absolute weirdo even to get on the show.I think the same applies in the world of sport. What was once considered to be a character now doesnt cut the mustard. The way we look back at some of the old characters… I dont think the modern-day players are any different to them. People have become a bit immune.Think of the relative lack of interest in say, the brash idealism of Judd Trump or Mark Allens spiky outsider status, and it is easy to agree. The exception, of course, is Ronnie OSullivan, who spoke after his recent Crucible exit about the combined pressures of being snookers new figurehead and its most popular player. Davis sympathises. Davis and Jimmy White pose ahead of the 1984 World Championship final The same thing happened for Jimmy and for Alex, he says. People wanted them to do so well, and when they werent youd get people shouting come on Jimmy and come on Alex. Sometimes I felt as though that hindered them more than helped. That didnt happen too often from my perspective, but actually perversely [the lack of support] was probably easier to deal with.Ronnies certainly got the pressure of not only being the No 1 ranked player when he wants to be, hes also got the pressure of everybody wanting him to win. Its a double-edged sword.Davis now has the luxury of looking on from a distance, and although his enduring love for the sport is obvious both from the way he talks and from his insightful television analysis, the tone is one of proud granddad ruffling the hair of his favourite grandson. It is time for some of his other passions to share top billing now. Already a published author - he has co-written two books on chess - Davis life story Interesting is nominated for Autobiography of the Year at the prestigious Cross Sports Book Awards. Snooker legend Davis retires Steve Davis is to stop playing snooker 35 years after winning his first World Championship An interest in music - from rare 70s soul to obscure prog rock - has been a matter of record for years but has brought new opportunities recently after promoters tuned into his community radio show and spotted his potential for bringing out-there electronica to a wider audience.Acclaimed DJ sets have followed, and when Davis answers his phone to Sky Sports he is busy rooting through the racks in a record shop in Manchester. Its great fun, he says. One minute were doing a radio show, the next minute someones asked us to play a music festival, and now all of a sudden were DJs. Its been brilliant, amazing.A rapid rise from part-timer to pro? A burgeoning career he describes as a hobby gone berserk? All sounds a bit familiar… Also See: Rocket warned over no-show Bring the party to snooker Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

RENTON, Wash. C. J. Fiedorowicz Jersey . - The Seattle Seahawks and kicker Steven Hauschka have agreed to terms on a new multi-year contract after the best season of his career. The team confirmed the agreement on Monday. Terms of the contract were not released. NFL.com reported its a three-year deal worth up to $9 million. Hauschka was a standout last season for the Seahawks. He missed only two field goals during the regular season, one of which was blocked. He made 33 of 35 kicks overall, was perfect from beyond 50 yards, and made all of his extra point attempts. Hauschka also improved his kickoffs with a career-high 48 touchbacks. In the post-season, Hauschka was a perfect 8 of 8 on field goal attempts. Hauschka finished his third season with the Seahawks. Before coming to Seattle in 2011, Hauschka kicked for both Baltimore and Denver. Kevin Johnson Jersey . The Mavericks were not going to let San Antonio beat them with 3-pointers, and they did not want Tony Parker using the lane as his personal playground. Whitney Mercilus Jersey . Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and Frank Thomas appeared to be on track to gain election from the Baseball Writers Association of America on Wednesday, and Craig Biggio could join them.A man who says he was sexually abused by former Toronto Maple Leafs equipment manager Gordon Stuckless has filed what is believed to be the first lawsuit against the Toronto District School Board related to the sexual predator. The plaintiff, whose identity is being protected by TSN, claims Stuckless, a former hockey coach and part-time teacher at Park Public School, abused him from 1976, when the plaintiff was a 12-year-old, sixth-grade student at the school, until 1978. According to the lawsuit, a copy of which was obtained by TSN, Stuckless used his position with the Maple Leafs to gain the plaintiffs trust. After befriending the plaintiff and his family, Stuckless began to spend time with (the plaintiff) and his family at their home, says the lawsuit, filed in Ontario Superior Court. Stuckless used his positions within the school board to befriend (the plaintiffs) mother so that she would permit (him) to go to hockey games and other activities with Stuckless outside of regular school hours. Two or three months after they met in 1976, the abuse began, court documents allege. The plaintiffs claims have not been proven and Stuckless has not filed a statement of defence. A spokesman for the school board said the board was aware of the case but couldnt comment further. A Maple Leafs spokesman declined to comment. In April, Stuckless plled guilty to 100 charges related to the abuse of 18 underage boys decades ago. Corey Moore Jersey. That came after he also pled guilty in 1997 to sexually assaulting two dozen boys while he was an usher at Maple Leaf Gardens between 1969 and 1988. But this latest case is believed to be the first in which an alleged victim of Stuckless has sued the school board. It hired, supervised, evaluated, instructed, and paid Stuckless, the claim says. It also had the power to dismiss him… The trust, power, and authority conferred upon Stuckless by the school board gave him a special opportunity to gain access to (name redacted) in private situations, created a situation of psychological intimacy, and ensured that (name redacted) would submit to his acts and endure them in silence. The plaintiff is suing Stuckless, the school board, and Maple Leaf Sports each for $750,000 in damages. Hes also asking for special damages of $500,000. Stucklesss lawyer Ari Goldkind told TSN that at a court hearing next year, The Crown will ask for Stuckless to be designated as a dangerous offender. Goldkind told The Toronto Sun that Stuckless has remained law abiding and voluntarily undergoes chemical castration since he was paroled in 2001. If he is designated as a dangerous offender, Stuckless could be sentenced to an indeterminate sentence of imprisonment. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ChinaCheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
