Basically, they are public quests which occur randomly across Eorzea; much like Guild Wars 2's lively events. By simply opening up your map, you are going to see any that are currently active, there intended level, and remaining length. There are many different FATEs - some need you to kill waves of enemies, defeat one giant boss-like creature, defend an NPC and collect items.
Based on the amount of input in a FATE, you'll be awarded with a bronze, silver, or gold decoration, together with scaling Gil and experience. You might even participate at a FATE even if you're over the recommended level; if you're more than five levels beforehand, you're going to be required to sync your level down to have the ability to reap any sort of reward.
Guildhests are not anything to be frightened of. When you're level 10, you will unlock your first one, which can be retrieved through the Duty Finder. They're very similar to dungeons, so they require a party to finish, but frequently just focus on a single objective. Aside from a big one-time bonus for finishing Guildhests for the first time, they are primarily intended to instruct new MMO players on functioning collectively, and about their functions of tanking, DPS and recovery.
Ultimately we come to Guildleves - they are just different name for repeatable quests. There are different kinds of those quests: Battlecraft Leves are quests between dispatching enemies, and also have the option to get their difficulty increased for better rewards. Tradecraft Leves need you to hand in specific crafted items, and if the player hands in premium quality items the experience reward is doubled. Fieldcraft Leves provide players the job of collecting materials within a certain time limit. You only have a small allowance of Levequests - ffxiv wiki classes players get three adjustments every 12 hours, piling up to 100.
